Plan to bring 5000 EV buses, says Sharjeel
Karachi: Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the Sindh government introduced electric buses for the first time in Pakistan’s history.
Speaking in the Sindh Assembly, he said that he has consistently supported EV vehicles in the cabinet. He added that it is important to understand how much governments spend on petrol and to formulate a strategy that enables fuel savings.
He stated that 5,000 buses is a very large number and that it will take time to procure such a quantity because these buses are based on modern technology, are expensive, and require supporting infrastructure.
