Talent Hunt Expo begins in Sukkur

SUKKUR: A two-day Talent Hunt Expo 2026 was organized by the Government Special Education and Rehabilitation Center (V.I.C), Sukkur, and was inaugurated by Sukkur Mayor and Sindh Government Spokesperson Barrister Arsalan Islam Sheikh. During his visit to the exhibition, the mayor appreciated the talents of special children and the dedication of their teachers, and announced a grant of Rs 1 million along with free transportation for recreational activities of special children in the Sukkur region.

He stated that a Rs 150 million grant from the Sindh Chief Minister has transformed the V.I.C Barrage Colony into a model institution, and assured further government support for special education centers. He also appealed to philanthropists to support the rehabilitation and welfare of special children, in line with the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Arsalan Islam Sheikh expressed grief over the Gul Plaza tragedy in Karachi and announced compensation of Rs 10 million for each martyr’s family, Rs 500,000 for partially affected traders, along with business rehabilitation loans and security measures.

The expo featured talent displays by special children from eight centers across Sukkur, Khairpur, and Ghotki, including creative, technical, and musical performances. Officials, social figures, and students from various universities attended the event. Parents of special children are expected to participate on the second day of the exhibition.
