Commissioner Sukkur reviews work on govt buildings

Sukkur (Handout ) Commissioner Sukkur Division, Abid Saleem Qureshi, visited two important government construction projects in Sukkur city to review their progress and quality. Commissioner Sukkur visited the under-construction hostel for students of Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College, located near the Government Children’s Hospital in Sukkur. During the visit, officers from Health Works Department briefed the Commissioner on the ongoing work. They informed him that over 50% of the construction work on the hostel has been completed, and the remaining work will be finished within the stipulated time frame once funds are released. They assured that no compromise will be made on the quality of the hostel’s construction.

Subsequently, Commissioner Sukkur also reviewed the construction work of a Girls’ Library being built by the Sindh Culture Department at the Government Comprehensive Higher Secondary School, Sukkur. On this occasion, Director of the Culture Department Sukkur, Imtiaz Ahmed Memon, briefed the Commissioner and stated that over 90% of the library’s construction work has been completed. The remaining finishing work will be completed soon, and the library will be formally inaugurated once furniture and books are procured and installed, he added.

On this occasion, Commissioner Sukkur Division Abid Saleem Qureshi expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work. He remarked that it is highly encouraging that the Culture Department has established another public library in Sukkur, following the historic Mir Masoom Shah Library. This new library in another area of the city will provide easy access for female students, where they can enhance their intellectual pursuits through their study, Commissioner added.
